SUMMARY:TANGO! TANGO! - Brookline
DESCRIPTION:Experience an electrifying evening with legendary Grammy-winning pianist Pablo Ziegler—Astor Piazzolla’s acclaimed arranger & longtime collaborator. Joined by strings and winds\, Ziegler brings the passion\, pulse\, & brilliance of Argentine tango vividly to life! \nFor more than a decade\, from 1978 to 1989\, Ziegler was the pianist in Astor Piazzolla’s legendary final quintet\, collaborating closely with the great bandoneonist and appearing on such landmark recordings as Tango: Zero Hour\, La Camorra\, and The Central Park Concert. Since Piazzolla’s death\, Ziegler has continued to expand and reimagine the Nuevo Tango tradition\, bringing together the passion and sensuality of Argentine tango with the freedom of jazz and the intricate textures of classical music. His album Jazz Tango won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album. \nJoined by Mistral’s dynamic ensemble of strings and winds\, Ziegler brings the irresistible rhythms\, haunting lyricism\, and dramatic brilliance of Buenos Aires vividly to life.
