Mistral Artistic Director Julie Scolnik organized an orchestra concert for La Ligue contre le Cancer (The League Against Cancer) in Paris, in late May at the Hotel de Ville. Orchestra members were drawn from all over the world and performed a program of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven under the direction of Marc Coppey. The event was a huge success, raising a substantial amount of money for research and support. Julie delivered a very personal speech – in French – about the role music played in her own life when she was in treatment herself.
